Olivier Theyskens (spring-summer 2001)

Invitations designed in the shape of a sailing ship set the tone of the collection. Images centered around the sea and yachts. Lighting represented the sea - stormy and raging, deep and quiet, and in its abundance. The narrow runway of about 50 centimeters was covered with black shells from the south seas. The collection started with a mustard leather design. Leather for sailing, lifejackets, and imagery of sails. The audience was thrilled by the huge crinoline covered by rope.

A Greek style mini-dress was also worth mention. Hairstyles covered with decor resembling seaweed were also spectacular. Makeup used violet eyeshadow and flaunted red cheeks. Lipstick was silver accented bordeaux. Everything was engaging and everyone left enjoying their brief “stay at sea”.
